Rail Tater (Blender, 2023)

The "Rail Tater" is a custom-designed weapon created in Blender and textured in Substance Painter. It operates on the principle of a railgun, but with a unique homemade twist—its ammunition is a high-velocity potato chip encased in Tungsten. The Rail Tater is equipped with an electromagnetic rail system that accelerates the potato chip to extreme speeds, turning it into a deadly projectile. The core of the weapon features dual power cells that generate the necessary energy to create a rapid and controlled electromagnetic pulse, propelling the potato along the rail system.

The potato ammunition is loaded into a specialized compartment, and once the trigger is pulled, the electromagnetic rails engage, launching the chip with devastating force. The recoil is surprisingly manageable, considering the power output, and the weapon is designed for a satisfying, chunky reloading experience.

Its texturing in Substance Painter brings a blend of high-tech metallics and gritty, almost farming-equipment aesthetic, giving the Rail Tater a quirky yet serious look. The potato chamber even has a transparent window so you can see the spud before it launches, adding an extra level of ridiculous charm to its function.
